This is my Senior Capstone group animation project for UW-Stout. It is about a man who infiltrates an enemy-occupied castle to steal valuable information key to the cause but finds more than he bargained for. The animation was compiled and rendered in Unreal Engine 5 using metahuman rigs. I worked on motion capture data cleanup using animation layers in Maya along with additive layers in Unreal before applying it to our metahumans. I also performed a lot of the animations while wearing a mocap suit in UW-Stout's Vicon lab and utilized Live Link Face on our iPhones to capture our facial animations.
I did the body and face mocap cleaning for the guard reactions.
I cleaned up the body and face mocap data for John and the two guards.
I cleaned up the body and face mocap data for John, the driver and passenger of the truck, as well as the guard. I also keyframed the movement of the doors and truck.
I cleaned up the body and face mocap data of John and the guard for the entire guard takedown and drag sequence.
I was in charge of cleaning up the body and face mocap data for John in the entire enter office sequence. I utilized the sockets feature in Unreal to have him interact with the gun on the desk. I also keyframed the desk button and frame animations.
I cleaned up the body and face mocap of John for the safe opening sequence. The animations for the safe and safe device were made in Maya by another group member and were baked onto the rigs in Unreal.
I cleaned up the body and face mocap data of John and Lord Durchdenwald for the caught sequence. I also keyframed the smoke bomb dropping on the ground while another group member animated the opening of the grenade in Maya and baked it onto the rig.
Here's the Youtube video of the entire animation!
